FAQs

SDSU Loyal is a recognition program established to honor our most consistent donors who make annual gifts without fail.
The State of California provides just 20 percent of the university’s annual operating expenses, so we increasingly rely on our loyal donors’ commitment to support student success, faculty research, and athletic achievements. Those recognized as SDSU Loyal make annual gifts toward scholarships, endowed professorships, academic programs, new campus buildings, athletics … and much more.

To become SDSU Loyal, you must have made a gift to the university in each of the last two calendar years. Members are recognized for their total years of giving at the following tiers:

2+ years of giving
5+ years of giving
10+ years of giving
15+ years of giving
20+ years of giving
25+ years of giving
30+ years of giving
40+ years of giving

Your annual contributions of any amount to any SDSU school, college, department, or program will establish and sustain your SDSU Loyal status. While pledges are not applied toward membership, contributions you make toward your pledges do count.

You will receive an annual communication confirming your SDSU Loyal status, which includes a small token of appreciation to recognize your total years of giving and remarkable loyalty to the university.

To remain SDSU Loyal, simply continue to make a gift to the university year over year—gifts of any amount to any area of campus count!

If you miss a year of giving, you will experience a lapse in your SDSU Loyal recognition; however, you can reclaim your membership status with two consecutive years of giving. When your membership is reactivated, you will be welcomed back to the program at the milestone that acknowledges the total number of years you have made gifts to SDSU.
